The avocados "heart" - its most precious components in concentrated form In soapmaking, fats are saponified with lye - the lye reacts with the fatty acids, the result are soap molecules. Plant oils and fats have a certain percentage of components that cannot be saponified, e.g. phytosterols, fatty alcohols, wax esters, squalene, carotinoids and fat-soluble vitamins. The unsaponifiable of avocado oil contains these components in concentrated form. These are substances that are also present in the hydro lipid layer and the stratum corneum of the skin. It strengthens the lipid layers in the corneal layer (thus reduces loss of moisture), hydrates and regenerates. Avocadin is therefor especially beneficial for dry and rough skin. It is highly concentrated and should be used sparingly: in gels, 0,1 to 0,2 are enough, in creams you can use up to 1 %.
