Beeswax is a metabolic product of the honeybee. A distinction is made between white, bleached, and yellow, untreated beeswax: Cera alba and Cera flava. It is used as a consistency enhancer for creams, lipsticks, kohl, and body lotion. It has skin nurturing properties. Concentration: 1 to 3 %. A higher concentration will result in a dulled feel on the skin, leading to a feeling of tightness. This can be changed by adding more oil to the cream. People who are allergic to pollen might have an allergic reaction to beeswax, too. They should use Ceralan or carnauba wax instead. Beeswax is also excellent for making your own beeswax candles.
