DESCRIPTION: |
A basic component for excellent gels and hair sprays! Synthetic thickening agent and stabilizer for making creams, lotions, face packs and masks. The white and ultrafine powder is a polymer based on acrylic acid and salt. It produces clear gels with a pH value between 6 and 7. It is also a stabilizer for oil-in-water emulsions and products free of emulsifiers, like sun care products. Due to its large molecular chains, it cannot penetrate the skin. In warm water, the gel production is more effective. The gel stays stable even if salt is added, and also in the alkaline pH range (higher than 7). Acidity, a high alcohol content (more than 40%) and surfactants break up the gelling structures ? the gel liquefies. PNC 400 can be stirred directly into water. This is the only gelling agent that works in combination with alcohol. For some peelings and hair gels it is therefor the only gelling agent that can be used.
