Hobbythek's mild preservative Paraben K is an effective and frequently used preservative for lengthening the shelf life of homemade skin care products. It consists of methyl- and propylparaben and benzyl alcohol. Methylparaben is anti-bacterial, propylparaben acts as a fungicide. Concentration: 1 drop on 10 g of the finished product. This concentration will give a shelf life of appr. 3 months, if processed cleanly. 2 drops on 10 g of the finished product will give a shelf life of appr. 6 months, if processed cleanly. Further increase of dosage will not give longer shelf life! Attention: in products with a high percentage of protein, shelf life may be reduced.
