The classic cream and ointment base - free from pesticides - and odorless! Lanolin is the classic ointment base in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry. Often, lanolin is also used as a lipid-replenishing component in cosmetic products. Lanolin is obtained from a secretion of sheep's sebaceous glands. This happens after the shearing of the sheep, by washing the secretion out of the wool. Lanolin is most suited for nurturing dry, rough and mature skin. It can be mixed with any other oils or fats, and can be used as an emulsifier, as it can absorb its own weight in water and/or active agents.
