The unrefined choice for all purists! Unrefined shea butter has a characteristic, slightly yellow color, a "buttery" texture and a specific odor. Shea butter is mostly used as a nurturing consistency enhancer in cosmetic products. Shea butter contains a relatively high percentage of unsaponifiable components (6 to 8 %). These are said to be exceptionally good for the skin because of their skin-friendly, nurturing and protecting properties. This butter is most beneficial for dry skin that needs oil and moisture, scaly skin, skin that has been damaged from external influences, e.g. exposure at work, sun exposure, aging skin, skin suffering from atopic eczema. Shea butter helps through replenishing oil and moisture and makes the skin softer and smoother immediately. Shea butter is a well-tolerated, very versatile high quality butter.
