Pigment, also suitable for soapmaking Red is a pigment: finely ground, microscopically small powdered granules. It can be used for blush, eye shadow, finger paint or pigment mixtures. If added to a carrier substance like cream, the fine granules will distribute if stirred. If you add more red, the mixture will thicken and become more opaque. The covering effect can be enhanced by adding white pigments: zinc oxide, talcum or titanium dioxide. If used in soap, the foam might turn slightly red.
