Fragrant skin care from the tropics - in organic quality! The passion flower Passiflora edulis comes from South America; nowadays, it is grown everywhere in the tropic and sub-tropic regions of the world. It is a vigorous climbing plant that needs trees or climbing aids to grow to 10 m height. The fruit are mainly used for producing juice and deserts. Our passion fruit seed oil is a cold-pressed oil obtained from the seeds of Passiflora edulis flavicarpa. It has a bright yellow color and a subtle passion fruit scent! Passion fruit seed oil is extremely rich in unsaturated fatty acids: appr. 75 % linoleic acid, and over 10 % oleic acid. Additionally, it contains around 460 ppm tocopherol and phytosterols: stigmasterol and beta-sitosterol (appr. 2 mg/g). Passion fruit seed oil is mainly used in massage oils and sunscreen products.
