Nettle seed oil is obtained from maceration of stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) in sesame seed oil (1 part nettle seed : 2 parts organic sesame seed oil). This oil is dark green and very viscous - it has a consistency that is lies between oil and butter. It is a very rich oil that is absorbed quickly without leaving a film on the skin. If used undiluted, the skin feels smooth and supple. Nettle seed oil contains almost 70 % linoleic acid and 20 & oleic acid. Its high chlorophyll content makes it bright green. Also, it has an exceptionally high content of vitamin E, phytosteroles and antioxidants. Stinging nettle is a traditional medicinal and crop plant; its leaves, roots and seeds have been said to have a multitude of healing properties.
