Sea buckthorn seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the wild growing sea buckthorn. Cloudiness might occur; this is product-specific and a sign of good quality. The oil is slightly viscous, has a fruity scent and a bright orange color (beware of stains in the towel!). Sea buckthorn seed oil has a high content in palmitic and palmitoleic acid, vitamins A, E, K and C plus carotenoids. These anti-oxidants provide protection against free radicals; thus, it is very often used in sunscreen products. It regenerates and soothes dry, sensitive skin. It is also a proven wound treatment - especially for treating skin damaged from radiation. It can be added to all cosmetic products that contain oil or fat; face creams, lip balms, sun tan lotions.
