Blackcurrants (Ribes nigra) yield one of the most precious berry seed oils! 100% pure - no additives Blackcurrant seed oil has a unique fatty acid profile. It contains alpha- as well as gamma linolenic acid and another very rare fatty acid: stearidonic acid (C18:4). There has been much research in the last years regarding the properties of this fatty acid; it has a very strong anti-inflammatory effect, even if applied externally to the skin. At the same time, this oil contains a high amount of linoleic acid, which is incorporated into the skin`s own ceramide I.
