Green hemp oil (Cannabis sativa), carefully pressed from hemp seeds, contains a multitude of substances relevant for skin care: long chain fatty acids, phytosterols, squalane and tocopherol. The most valuable components of hemp oil are the polyunsaturated fatty acids linoleic acid (50 to 70 %) and alpha linolenic acid (15 to 25 %) plus the rare gamma linolenic acid (2 to 4 %) Hemp oil is one of the very few oils that contain GLA. Studies have shown that is has similar properties to evening primrose and borage oil. It is an excellent oil for cosmetic purposes (creams, hair care, bath products etc.). It is said to be one of nature`s anti-wrinkle-treatments. Additionally, hemp oil is an excellent base oil for massage oils, as it is not only nurturing to the skin, but also a muscle relaxant.
