Dark green, fat, and just fabulous! Fat laurel oil, also called laurel butter (Oleum Lauri expressum) is obtained by pressing powdered laurel seeds (Laurus nobilis) at warm temperatures. It is a dark green oil/fat that melts at 38°C. It has a characteristic, dry odor of laurel and a bitter and aromatic flavor. Sometimes, the liquid oil components separate from the solid fat (Laurostearin). Main components: glycerides of lauric acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid, essential oils with sesquiterpene lactones, chlorophyll.
