Cornflower hydrosol is obtained through the destillation of cornflowers (Centaurea cyanus), which belong to the composite plants. The native cornflower grows in all of Europe and the Mediterranean. The intensely colored, blue flowers can be found mostly in or at the edge of cornfields. Cornflowers have been used since ancient times as medicine. In cosmetics, their skin clearing properties are highly valued. The hydrosol can help irritated, reddened skin (even facial erythrosis). It can be used undiluted as a facial tonic. Eye compresses with cornflower hydrosol are also highly recommendable. After a stressful day at the office, the compresses will relax the eye area and make it look fresh (avoid direct eye contact). You can also spray a little cornflower hydrosol onto the closed eyes before going to sleep, and tap it in lightly. You will be rewarded with a fresh look next morning!
