The peppery and spicy aroma of the clove can be found in gingerbread as well as in Indian curries and chai. The unmistakable scent is most concentrated in the budding flower, and it is these dried buds we know as "cloves". Clove oil can become very dominant in fragrance blends. In high concentration, the spicy note is very prominent; but if used sparingly, it develops a clear floral note that lends an exotic, mystical depth to all other floral notes and lasts very long. Cloves essential oil keeps very well in soaps, but the soap mixture will solidify rapidly once this essential oil is added.
