It makes a prominent base note in natural perfumes and is a good fixative. If used sparingly, it gives a complex and earthy note to bath cosmetics and massage bars. In skin care, it is highly recommended as a tonic for mature skin. In soap, patchouli oil lasts very long, and is uncomplicated to use. Patchouli combines well with woody notes, with lavender and all "rosy" fragrances. It is gorgeous in combination with vanilla.
