Lavandin is a hybrid of Lavandula angustifolia (the "true" lavender) and Lavandula latifolia, spike lavender. It grows taller and yields more essential oil than true lavender. The photographs of violet Provençal lavender fields show almost always lavandin plants. Lavandin oil is distinctly fresher than true lavender oil. It lends a fresh note to everything. Lavandin is very versatile. It is a classic in soaps, in all things that help with cleaning and washing, but also refreshing in skin care. A powerful heart note in natural and ambience fragrances, and last but not least: like all lavender oils very successful in removing stubborn glue residue.
