This mint has a characteristic, delicate and light citrus scent. Bergamot mint does not contain menthol. The slighty minty scent comes form the constituent menthofuran. Bergamot mint essential oil has a composition and effect similar to Lavender essential oil; it does smell distinctly different, though. Makes a light and fresh head note in natural perfumery.
