A refreshing summer morning in the woods The Atlas cedar belongs to the pine family (Pinaceae) and originates in the Atlas Mountains in North Africa. In the 19th century, this evergreen tree has found its way to France via Southern Europe, and is even growing in Germany today. The fragrance of the essential oil is dry and woody, with an underlying sweetness. An exhilarating touch of fresh wood and moss underlines a calming and stimulating freshness. Atlas cedar oil has many uses. Its fragrance makes it especially well suited for men´s skin care products: soaps, massage oils, or bath products, and, naturally, for men´s perfumes. The oil has astringent, antiseptic, aphrodisiac and calming properties and promotes circulation. Like Himalaya cedar essential oil, it protects clothes from moths. Atlas cedar oil combines well with floral notes like rose, lavender, and jasmine and with herbal notes like rosemary and juniper. In a fond, Atlas cedar oil will work well with ylang-ylang and frankincense.
