Extract from Gotu kola/Centella asiatica The aquatic plant Centella asiatica is a native of Madagascar and India. Wounded tigers rub their wounds in this plant, and eat it; after watching this, humans started using it, too. The leaves contain many active components, essential oils, fatty acids and minerals, and, most important, two sugars: asiaticoside and madekassoside. These sugars regenerate the fibroblasts in the skin, and thus promote its regeneration. Gotu kola is a traditional remedy that has been used in Ayurveda medicine since ancient times for treating irritated skin and for strengthening and regenerating the connective tissue, since it strengthens the elastic fibers of the skin. During dieting and pregnancy, the strain on the skin is particularly high - and can be kept more elastic through the stimulating effect of Centella extract.
