Alcoholic extract from the "herb with a thousand leaves" Yarrow plants can grow to a height of 1 meter; they have pinnatisect leaves, the small flower heads consist of white or light pink ray florets in umbellate panicles. The Native Americans used this plant often, it is also known in traditional Chinese medicine since 4000 years. Yarrow flowers contain an essential oil similar to that of blue chamomile, plus vitamin A. Yarrow is good for oily, impure skin. Aging skin, too, benefits from the use of yarrow: it strengthens the skin and softens wrinkles. It is also recommended for infected skin and chapped hands.
