Field pansies (Viola tricolor) are natives in Europe; they flower from May to August.

Pansy flowers contain salicin, a natural derivative of salicylic acid, tannins, bitter agents and flavonoids.
The nourishing, anti-inflammatory properties of field pansy extract can be helpful in treating skin disorders, particularly acne. Traditionally, it has also been used for treating milk crust and itchiness.
Field pansy extract can be added to facial tonics, lotions, creams, soaps, after shaves and hair care.
