Ectoine is a finely crystalline white powder obtained from bacteria that can survive at the most hostile places of the earth. Ectoine's cell protection and UV protection plus its extreme hygroscopic capacity enables them to live in geysers, salt lakes or deserts. Extensive scientific studies have shown that ectoine can also protect human skin: - protection of the skins immune system (Langerhans cells) - cell protection (from heat stress) - protection against photodermatosis (through denaturation of proteins) - protection against skin ageing (from UVA rays) - hygroscopic properties (stress from drying out) - long time moisturizing effect Concentration: 0,3 to 2 % Usage: dissolve in aqueous phase and emulsify with the oils.
